Terms of use

These terms apply to this website, operated by Zimbabwe Ostomates Support Trust, a nonprofit trust registered in Zimbabwe under Deed of Trust MA 117/17, of 1 Headingley Drive, Ashdown Park, Harare, Zimbabwe.

Medical information disclaimer

The guidance on this website is general information about living with a stoma. It is not medical advice and does not replace assessment by a doctor, surgeon or stoma care nurse who knows your medical history.

Always seek professional advice about your own care. If your stoma changes colour, stops producing output while you have pain or swelling, bleeds heavily, or the surrounding skin breaks down, seek medical help promptly. Do not delay seeking care because of something you read here.

ZOST supplies appliances, education and peer support. We do not diagnose, prescribe or provide medical treatment.

Supplies

Ostomy products are distributed subject to availability. Our stock comes from donations in kind, and we cannot guarantee that a particular type or size will be available at a given time. We do not sell ostomy products for profit.

Products are checked before distribution, but appliances must be used in line with the manufacturer’s instructions and the guidance of your stoma care nurse.

Donations

Donations are used to further the objects of the trust as set out in our Deed of Trust. Bank details published on this website are the accounts of Zimbabwe Ostomates Support Trust at FBC Bank. Always check that the account name matches the registered name of the trust before transferring funds.

We will never contact you asking for donations to a different account, nor ask for card details, passwords or one time codes. If you receive such a request claiming to be from ZOST, it is not from us, and we would be grateful if you would report it to us.

Use of this website

You may read, print and share this material for personal and non-commercial purposes, including for the care of an ostomate. Please do not present it as your own or use it commercially without our permission.

We work to keep information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that the site will always be available or free of error.

Where we link to other organisations, we do so because we believe the information may help. We are not responsible for the content of external websites.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe.
